Tom began his interest in the law as a pro se litigant in 1990 when he was still working as a technical editor for a computer company, in a dispute over the provisions of his father’s will.  Lawyers in his family assisted him in handling his own case.  Tom didn’t win his case (heard by Judge Taxis of Montgomery County’s Orphan’s Court), but he discovered a deep interest in the law which impelled him to law school.  His scholastic career was very successful, and after graduating as Valedictorian and winner of the DiBona Moot Court competition, he began as an associate in the commercial real estate department of one of Pennsylvania’s largest law firms.  In 1995 he commenced his own practice in the West Chester area, where he resides and still maintains a home office for meeting clients.

From commercial real estate, Tom’s practice expanded to business and corporate law, all facets of employment law (where he represents both employees and employers), and major construction litigation (for contractors, architects and owners).  He has handled a number of cases involving disputed insurance coverage after a major loss.  He has worked for a legal services agency, both as a law student and as an attorney, frequently representing claimants in unemployment compensation hearings.  He represents landlords, tenants, the boards of condominium associations and planned unit developments (PUDs).  He assists clients in starting businesses, forming corporations and limited liability companies, buying franchises and collecting commercial debts.  He assists clients in estate planning, drafting wills, health care directives and powers of attorney, and represents executors in the administration of estates and trusts.  He represents and counsels clients in mortgage foreclosure scenarios.

Tom and his wife, Erma, have been married for 25 years, and have four children.  He is a graduate of North Penn High School and Villanova University. He is active in the community and has been on the West Chester Area School Board (1999-2003) and the Chester County School Authority (2001 to present, the last six years as chairman).   He is counsel for the Spring-Ford Chamber of Commerce and active with the Spring-Ford Rotary.
